Senior Cloud Engineer with 20+ years of experience across financial services, insurance and technology — originally from Spain, living in Rotterdam, The Netherlands for more than 25 years. Having built my life and career across both countries gives me a unique perspective: I actively follow economic, political and IT developments in Spain and the Netherlands and understand first-hand the cultural differences in the way people work, communicate and adopt technology. I am an open, socially oriented person — I enjoy presenting to mixed audiences, have no trouble acknowledging my own mistakes as part of learning, and approach every new technology with genuine optimism.
With 10+ years of Azure and Azure DevOps CI/CD experience, I have built and operated cloud platforms across the full spectrum — from early adoption to large-scale enterprise delivery. A true multi-cloud practitioner: for 7+ years I have been running production Kubernetes workloads on both AKS and Amazon EKS, managing Helm charts, RBAC, networking policies and multi-tenant cluster strategies. Over the past 3 years I have expanded into AWS, operating both clouds simultaneously — provisioning infrastructure with Terraform, deploying via ArgoCD and GitOps, and automating everything with PowerShell, Bash and Azure Pipelines as daily scripting tools.
I have followed the CEH training programme twice, and attended specialist Red Teaming and Cobalt Strike training (DAMTA — Defend Against Modern Targeted Attacks) by Outflank, covering both offensive techniques and enterprise defence across all phases of an attack. Currently responsible for Cloud Security across multiple AWS and Azure subscriptions, and regularly consulted by the Security department on incidents and resolutions.
Currently exploring Agentic AI, Model Context Protocol (MCP) and LLMs such as Claude to build autonomous engineering tooling. Actively developing a first MCP server and giving internal presentations on getting started with LLM-powered automation.
My background spans both sides of the business: from Financial Controller to Cloud Engineer. With a Master in Business Informatics and a BBA, I can navigate any business domain — finance, accounting, marketing, operations — as fluently as I read a Terraform plan. Currently directly responsible for FinOps across multiple Azure and AWS environments and Kubernetes clusters — providing cost insights to the management team, identifying improvements and following up on their implementation.
